Locational Astrology Case Studies
One of the best ways to learn any branch of astrology is through real world examples, which is why I love case studies. Studying different astrology case studies allows you to see how a particular combination of planetary energy can manifest through a person's life, based on events that have actually occurred for them.
This can be done for any type of astrology, whether it be personality traits, relationship synastry, event timing, transit effects, and more. But I particularly like looking at case studies for locational astrology because the locations and timeframes are often so delineated that the geographic astrological influences can become quite apparent.
This is especially true with sports players, because the cities they move to correspond with very particular timeframes where they played for certain teams. So we can see how well they fared, in their sport and in life, based on their astrology map and astrological timing.
In the future I plan to do a wider range of case studies, on people other than just professional athletes, but as I am starting out making these, they seem to be a good choice for our learning purposes.
Tom Brady - Professional Quarterback
This case study was recorded in September, 2022, around the time Tom Brady was waffling back and forth about coming back to play another season, or if he was going to retire. I was particularly interested in the Paran line that was going through Boston, MA where he played for the Patriots for so long, and had such great success. It was a good example of how someone could take what is normally a very difficult line (Saturn-Neptune) and turn it into a huge strength. But I also looked at Tampa Bay to see how the astrology compared over there.
Update: When looking at his relocation charts for Boston and Tampa Bay I noticed how intense his relationships were for him in the Boston area (Venus strongly activated on the 8th House), but that level of intensity was reduced in the Tampa Bay area. Overall, there weren't as many influences on the map in Tampa as there were in Boston, but he did follow a difficult Local Space Line to Tampa that I wasn't completely sure how it was gonna play out for him.
He followed his Chiron local space line to Tampa, and for him Chiron is in the 7th House of relationships. This isn't really comparable to the "intensity in relationships" that Venus on the 8th House cusp brings, which also comes with a level of passion. Chiron being emphasized in the 7th House is more like stirring up deep inner wounds around relationships that need to be worked through. When I saw that he followed this line to Tampa I figured that the time that he had spent there so far must have led to relationship problems in some way, which didn't seem very pleasant, but I wasn't sure to what extent. Then a couple months after I posted this video him and Gisele announced their divorce!
Now it makes sense why he was so uncertain about returning to football to play another season or not; the longer he stayed in Tampa the more strain he was dealing with in relationships. He opted to play another season out there, instead of officially retiring, and it led to a situation that finally broke his marriage. Although it is a sad and unfortunate situation, it is also a fascinating look at how these planetary influences can manifest.
Russell Wilson - Professional Quarterback
This case study was recorded in August, 2022, after Russell Wilson signed a big contract to play for the Denver Broncos, and it was just before the 2022/2023 season started in September. Before then he played for the Seattle Seahawks for ten years, so in this video I discuss what his time in Seattle looked like compared to what I thought it would look like in Denver, based on what I saw on his locational astrology map, as well as his planetary timing and relocation charts.
Update: The most interesting thing that developed, as of December, 2022 when I'm writing this update, is how below average he's been playing this season, compared to his past performances in Seattle, and the expectations for him going in. While there was not much on the map that would show lack of success in this way, it was the planetary timing as shown in the Viṁśottarī Daśā that suggested to me that his first year there would be below average.
He had entered his Sun-Saturn time period which started in September, 2022, right when the football season started, and will last for one year. The Sun and Saturn tend to conflict with one another in general, usually signifying trouble, struggle, or conflict with authority, or authority type figures. In addition to this, the Sun and Saturn in his natal chart are in a 2-12 relationship, which is a disharmonious aspect to one another, causing additional discord and conflict for him during this time period. The way it seems to have manifested for him this year is by not being able to get on the same page with the coaching staff and management, as well as trouble in his own leadership capabilities as a quarterback for the team.
Next season he will enter his Sun-Mercury period, which for him are conjunct in the 11th House, in Scorpio on the Ārūḍha Lagna. Which overall is a more aligned time period for him. This leads me to believe that he will have a lot more success next season (2023/2024), winning more games, in harmony with the coaching staff, and more confident and authoritative in his own leadership abilities. His image will likely be greatly improved next year with a lot less criticism from the analysts and fans.
